Darwin Croc Tour - Adelaide River
Departing from Darwin City, we’ll travel approximately 60 km south to the Marrakai wetlands. Here you’ll see over 280 species of Aussie birds and 117 reptile species, including the saltwater crocodiles.
Australia’s Top End has over 100,000 saltwater crocodiles, mainly around Darwin, Mary River and the Adelaide River region, so you’ll see plenty of them throughout the day. The saltwater crocodile is the largest reptile in the world and one of the oldest living species, dating back to the age of the dinosaurs. These prehistoric beasts can grow up to 6 meters long and weigh 1000 kg.
You’ll also learn about ‘Sweetheart’, a local legend crocodile known for its antics, now in the Darwin Museum after being caught near the Adelaide River.

Tour Style
The weather in the Top End is like a wild rollercoaster ride, with rapid changes and intense moments that will leave you breathless. In the dry season, temperatures can go over 40 degrees Celsius and drop in the evening. Check your travel dates and pack accordingly to stay comfortable throughout your adventure. Rain or shine, your tour will only be canceled if the provider decides otherwise!
