Beautiful experience at the 3-Day-Tour from Melbourne to Adelaide Just finished my 3-day-tour in Adelaide and it was a great experience. Our tour guide "J-dog" alias Janet was the best. Always in good spirit, singing, she was very knowledgeable about everything, was super friendly and a great pal. The Tour was great, beautiful sceneries along The Great Ocean Road, many animals in the National Parks, we saw koalas, kakadoos, kookaburras, kangagooes etc.and the bushwalks were nice too. The accomodations were great, only 3 people in a room, the food was amazing. I also met some nice people, even from Switzerland. I can only recommend this tour, I loved it.
Darwin Litchfield Tour Itinerary
Get on board as we tour Litchfield National Park, one of our favourites and a Natural Wonderland, just over an hour’s drive from Darwin city. As we leave Darwin, the vegetation gets thicker and several beautiful rainforest patches offer a good break from the heat in the Top End.
While here, you might want to do the famous Jumping Crocodile Cruise (optional extra) on the Adelaide River or visit Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve, run by the Limilngan-Wulna people. The reserve is home to lots of wildlife, including native birds such as egrets and hawksbill turtles, water pythons and the iconic saltwater crocodile.
Don’t miss the giant Magnetic Termite Mounds and have a dip in one of Litchfield’s many natural plunge pools like Buley Rockholes or Wangi Falls. From rocky escarpments drop Florence Falls or Tolmer Falls and listen to the massive sound.

Day trip to litchfield national park
Ready to go on an adventure through the amazing sights of Litchfield National Park? Join us for a day trip and immerse your senses in the NT’s diversity. These lands have deep meaning for the Koongurrukun, Marranuggu, Werat, and Warray Aboriginal people, the spirits of which connect to the land of time. The varied terrain has pristine rockpools, flowing waterfalls and native birds and wildlife, making it a photographer’s paradise. On this Litchfield day trip, visitors will see the park’s iconic natural wonders, learn about the history of the land and swim in the water pools.
Adelaide River
The floodplains of the Adelaide River are home to birds from around the world. Black Flying Foxes and Bull Sharks can be found in this important water system. We take a boat ride to see the well-known residents of the area – Saltwater Crocodiles. In this experience, you will see apex predators up close in their natural habitat. The sight of the crocodile propelling itself up with its tail to “jump” out of the water is not to be missed. Our Litchfield National Park tours allow you to skip the cruise if you have already done it. You can join your guide to the Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve (see below).
- Explore the waterfalls of Litchfield National Park, a wonderland.
- See the waterfall surrounded by rainforest at Florence Falls.
- Swim in the plunge pools, natural spas and whirlpools of Buley Rockhole or Wangi Falls.
- Take the Jumping Crocodile Cruise along the Adelaide River and see the massive predators jump into the air (optional extra).

Fogg Dam Conservation Centre
This reserve, managed by the Limilngan-Wulna People, is a great place to see freshwater wildlife and learn about the importance of the Adelaide River floodplains to many species. Visitors can join their guide for a walk in this pristine habitat and see rare birds, water pythons and freshwater turtles. Crocodiles are also common in this wetland system.
There are two waterfalls in the area: Florence Falls and Tolmer Falls
The sandstone plateau of the Tabletop Range creates tropical waterfalls, Florence Falls and Tolmer Falls. See Florence Falls as you descend the steps to the swimming hole or marvel at Tolmer Falls from the lookout. The monsoon rainforest creates a tropical environment that can be experienced on a scenic walk with stunning views of this natural wonderland. Be prepared for an adventure! Our itineraries are flexible to accommodate seasonal changes, and there may be surprise closures or swimming restrictions in some areas of the parks. At Litchfield Tours, we put our guests’ safety and satisfaction first and plan every detail to make your experience as smooth as possible.
Some options for swimming in the Litchfield National Park include Buley Rockholes and Wangi Falls
Buley Rockholes are set in bushland and have multiple levels for swimming and relaxing. The clean water is like a spa, and the faster flowing cascades are like a massage. You can also visit the famous plunge pool at the bottom of the amazing Wangi Falls. This beautiful swimming spot, surrounded by stunning scenery, is a great place to rest while we explore the park. Itineraries are subject to change due to seasonal variations, and some areas of the park may be closed or swimming may not be permitted. At Darwin Litchfield Tours, we put the safety and happiness of our guests first, so we can deliver an unforgettable experience every step of the way.
