  • The operating days are Monday from May to September and Monday and Friday from October to April.
  • Departs Adelaide at 6:30 am
  • Arrives Adelaide at 11:00 pm
  • The entry fees for all National Parks.
  • Our touring experience is limited to a maximum of 20 people.
  • Driver guide with expert commentary.
  • The bush camp includes a two-night stay with bathroom facilities.

  • Sleeping bags can be purchased from us onboard for AUD 50; this includes cleaning costs. You are more than welcome to bring your own. Payment is made directly to the tour operator.
  • Any meals not indicated within the itinerary. For those with special dietaries, we recommend you bring snacks as options are limited in the outback.

Our central meeting point is Adelaide Central Bus Station, 85 Franklin Street, Adelaide @ 6:15 am.

The Sealink Coach Connection departs from Adelaide Central Bus Station, 85 Franklin St, Adelaide, at 6:45 am. Please be there at least 15 minutes early to check in.

Day 1

Adelaide to Kangaroo Island

 

You must start early today to catch the 6.45 am SeaLink bus transfer to the ferry terminal at Cape Jervis. Board the ferry for a 45-minute cruise to Penneshaw on Kangaroo Island. Meet your Untamed Escapes Guide here for an overview of the adventure ahead. Take a scenic coastal drive to Pennington Bay on the island’s south coast. This beach is famous for its epic surf breaks. Climb the 500 steps to the top of Prospect Hill for rewarding views and to get your bearings. Kangaroo Island is recognized as the world’s oldest bee sanctuary and is known for being the exclusive habitat of the Ligurian Bee, the only pure strain of its kind. Learn about these fascinating creatures at Clifford’s Honey and do a tasting. Visit Dudley Wines to relax on their lush lawns and enjoy the incredible ocean views. Arrive at our eco-campsite named “Happiness” with private access to the stunning beach of Antechamber Bay. Enjoy free time to relax or take a walk down to the beach. Sleep under the Milky Way stars and feel a deep connection with nature tonight.

Day 2

Discovering Kangaroo Island

 

Start your day with a volunteer conservation effort at the Hanson Bay Wildlife Sanctuary. This sanctuary is a haven for native wildlife and was affected by the 2020 bushfires. Depending on the time of year, you may participate in activities like collecting seeds, planting trees, or counting wildlife. After that, visit Flinders Chase National Park, known for its rock formations, beaches, and wildlife. Explore Admirals Arch and look out for New Zealand fur seals. Marvel at the Remarkable Rocks, go for a bush walk at Weirs Cove and have a picnic lunch. In the afternoon, visit Seal Bay, which houses a large colony of endangered Australian sea lions. Take a guided tour to learn about conservation efforts. Finally, return to camp for dinner, relaxation, and stargazing.

Day 3

Kangaroo Island - Adelaide

 

Start your final day of the tour with a morning hike. Take some free time in Kingscote and grab a coffee. Spend the rest of the day exploring the stunning north coast of the island. Navigate through caves and reach the beach voted best in Australia in 2023 – Stokes Bay. Have a picnic lunch and, if the weather permits, snorkel or enjoy the landscape. Contribute as a citizen scientist and support conservation efforts and research on the island through Passport for Recovery. In the afternoon, return and pack your things in “Happiness”. Head towards Penneshaw for the 7.30 pm ferry back. Enjoy one last dinner (at your own expense) before saying goodbye. Take the SeaLink bus connection and arrive in Adelaide at 11 pm.
