Larapinta and Culture Itinerary
Saturday
Pick up at airport or your accommodation and check-in to Alice Springs Resort. Visit Alice Springs Desert Park with final briefing in the evening.
Sunday
Depart Alice Springs. Day walk in the less walked but beautiful East MacDonnell Ranges and Trephina Gorge, a great introduction to the desert environment. Transfer to Hamilton Downs Homestead.
Monday
Depart for an extraordinary segment of Section 3 of the Larapinta Trail into the back-end of the spectacular Standley Chasm. Transfer to a campsite on Aboriginal country with Jungala Kriss and spend the night around his campfire with family members.
Tuesday
A beautiful day talking and walking with Jungala on country exploring cultural sites and learning about bush foods. Evening around the fire.
Wednesday
Break camp and depart for Section 8 - Serpentine Gorge to Serpentine Chalet over the spectacular Counts Lookout. Transfer to private camp on the Davenport Creek overlooking the magnificent Mount Sonder.
Thursday
Walk the iconic Mount Sonder then return for our last night around the fire.
Friday
Break camp and return to Alice Springs Resort via a walk in the mesmerising Ormiston Pound Circuit.
Saturday
Personal time in Alice before bus link to Alice Springs airport.
