Kroombit Cattle Station
The families of Kroombit can trace their links with the land back to early settlement and it was a dream of the Sandilands to share their lifestyle and the natural beauty of the 4000 hectare/10,000 acre station with you.
Alan and Carol Sandilands and their children Brent, Kerri and son-in-law Andrew have provided a unique outback experience to travellers for going on 20 years.
Kroombit is nestled in five acres of eucalypt forest on Lochenbar Cattle Station, 35 klms from Biloela in Central Queensland.
Kroombit offers a special outback dining experience, with outdoor/undercover tables and seats made from the trunk of blue gum trees cut on the property. We are renowned for our camp oven dinners, which are cooked over an open fire. Try this outback experience; it will be a memory to take home.
After a busy day you can relax around the licenced wagon bar, sit beside the cooking fire or join in the nightly entertainment.
In line with looking after the environment Kroombit, in conjunction with a TQUAL grant, has installed and opened their Eco friendly Treatment plant on 22nd October 2012. The plant was opened by Hon John Hogg, President of the Senate.
To make use of the waste water we have irrigated pastures in line with advice by EPA. Kroombit is utilizing the irrigated pastures by producing ducks and geese.
