The Australian East Coast: with a dramatic landscape from the harbour to the reef, are so many experiences to be had. We provide a 16-day Harbour to Reef safari from Sydney to Cairns, with each day packed with something new to learn and try out and places to explore.
The trip begins with a thrilling, high-speed jet boat tour of the coast, past famous landmarks like the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. Akin to a high-speed chase on a road, this tour is unlike any other, keeping your adrenaline pumped as an introduction to more exciting activities. In some ways, the jet boat excursion is an introduction to the white-water rafting on the Tully River later in the safari.
At Coffs Coast, you'll be able to take a surfboard to water, and learn how to surf in one of the best surfing spots in the world. The Surf Camp takes place at Spot X, a well-kept secret for one of Australia's most beautiful costal areas.
There's also Rainbow Beach, where you will be able to learn more about aboriginal life and culture with a local Aboriginal artist from the Bundalung tribe. He'll teach you how to create and design a customized boomerang, and teach you how to hunt with it. You can also learn how to play the didgeridoo, alongside an exploration of the color sandy dunes along the beach.
Part of the trip also covers a day at the Kroombit cattle station, where you can have the unique experience of working on a ranch in the outback. You can choose to sleep under the stars in a traditional swag, an Aussie bedroll that leaves you exposed to the clear night sky. During the day, the station owners will work you hard, teaching you how to crack a whip, shoot at clay targets, and release and lasso a goat in a rodeo. Do you have what it takes to live on a cattle station? You can find out here!
At the end of the trip, you'll find yourself at the beautiful Great Barrier Reef: The experience is unlike any other snorkeling adventure elsewhere in the world: with 400 different kinds of coral, thousands of fish, and various species of reptiles living in the reef, you will encounter so many living colours and cultures underwater. But if snorkeling isn't your style, you can opt for a relaxing and beautiful view of the reef from above in a hot air balloon.
In-between all these outdoor activities, you will experience the beautiful landscape, ranging from the dramatic Blue Mountains and the site of the Three Sisters formations, to the World Heritage listed Fraser Island, known for its freshwater lakes. You might catch sight of the island's dingoes, or the Cassawary bird on Mission Beach, or the many kangaroos roaming the lands while traveling from each post. Fueled by Australian BBQs and meals, the trip gives you just a glimpse of many aspects to Australia's history, culture, people, and environment.
If you are out to experience many new activities in one trip, a tour with us through the East Coast is one you can't miss. Contact us for more tours and details, and get started with your trip today.
