The role will involve high level customer service and sales of Wayoutback Australian Safaris product, and other tour and travel product and ancillary revenue product to achieve key financial, service performance and sales growth targets.  To work as part of a team lead by the Reservations Manager, in delivering a professionally run, safe, economically viable and successful reservations environment. To be pro active with input and actions based on providing support to the requirements of the work team, by adhering to operating requirements and striving for the achievement of individual, team and company objectives as directed.  








Culture and Conduct

  • Responsible for all duties associated with reservations during your allocated shift.
  • Make accurate reservations using the computer reservations system with data received by email, fax and telephone.
  • Collect payment and issue passenger tickets.
  • Complete any task checklists as per your allocated shift.
  • Produce manifests for the use of operations staff.
  • Gain a good knowledge of new and changing products.
  • Present a friendly and professional approach to all clients and suppliers.
  • Attend Reservations meetings when directed.
  • Complete all reasonable tasks set for you by your supervisor.
  • Achieve or exceed WOB customer service standards, as advised by your manager. Standards will change with requirements of continual improvement.
  • Prepare and present any required reports;
  • Participate in the process of setting and agreeing upon KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) for the role with your manager.
  • Reports presented on time
  • A high level of quality and continual improvement in all aspects of service 


SIGNIFICANT WORKING RELATIONSHIP:(Who does this job interact with on a regular basis?) 

Internal:  Reservations Manager, Reservations Supervisor, Marketing Manager, Managing Director

External:  Travel agents, guests, tourism operators and industry.

KEY CHALLENGES: (What obstacles will the incumbent face in achieving success in the role?)

Able to work independently where required along with the ability to work in a growth environment.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION (Optional): (Include information about things such as travel expectations, working to tight and inflexible deadlines during key periods)

To work on rostered shifts, which will include shifts over 7 days and public holidays.





Technical Skills
What technical skills does the incumbent need to produce the outputs required for the job?

  •  Good understanding of the tourism industry.
  • Computer skills with standard PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
  • Demonstrated experience with reservations / travel booking software

  • Ability to determine priorities, successfully manage simultaneous tasks with competing timelines.
