During the 2009 Year Wayoutback undertook various strategies in an attempt to reduce the carbon footprint impact of our Tour Operations.
The graph supplied by independent monitoring agency Alice Solar City highlights the positive impact our reduction strategy has had in regards to our Administration & Operations facility at Kidman Street in Alice Springs. The reduction in our Carbon Footprint is pronounced .
The year 2011/12 has realised a reduction of approximately 50% in our usage compared to when the scheme was first implemented in 2009. This is a significant development, moreso when observed against the daily average maximum temperatures which have been greater during that same period, an increase in our touring fleet and the operational hours at the Kidman St premises relative to the company’s expansion.
There is still much more that can be realised to further reduce our “green footprint” says Managing Director Don Wait. This highlights the significant impact we can all make should we be serious in assessing our activities and committing to the protection of our environment.
