Minimal Impact Designated Camp Site Code

  • All tracks and borders are to be respected and used as instructed.
  • Toilet facilities where supplied must be used for all such purposes.
  • Shower, sink and tub containers as supplied are to be used for all personal cleaning purposes.  Waters are to be disposed of utilising facilities supplied.
  • The use of non-biodegradable detergents, shampoos and soaps are discouraged.
  • The use of facilities utilising natural heating facilities is encouraged.
  • All aspects in regard to fire pit use, waste removal, footwear and natural water sources are as per “wild” camping guidelines.
  • All wood supplies to be contained within the designated locations.
  • Any additional shelters/shades erected are to utilise the existing constructed shelters at the sites as support.
  • Artificial noise (music, mobile phones etc) is to be contained to a minimum.
  • Ad-hoc walking into areas outside the camp site perimeter is only to be done with the instruction of the Guide.  This practice is actively discouraged between sunset and sunrise.
  • Artificial light is encouraged for safety purposes yet its’ over use is discouraged.
