Why Choose Wayoutback.
Small Groups - We are the last Alice Springs based 'small group' tour company carrying a maximum of only 16 passengers in 4-wheel drive vehicles, NOT buses.
Aboriginal Experiences - We include genuine indigenous interaction on our safaris so you get an authentic understanding of the original inhabitant’s history and relationship with the land from their perspective.
4-Wheel Drives - Our fleet of
4-Wheel Drive vehicles are specially modified for the rugged terrain to get you off the sealed roads and onto bush roads and tracks.
Remote Camp Sites - Our private bush camps are well away from other tour companies so you get that wonderful feeling of solitude and don’t feel part of a herd.
Bush Living - We cook our food over the camp fire and sleep under the stars in
Swags (Aussie bush bed) so you drift off to sleep around the camp fire with the brilliant southern stars above.
In addition to these basic principles, there are many other features that make our tours unique.
WAYOUTBACK is one of only a very few Advanced Eco-Tourism and TQUAL Accredited tour companies based in Alice Springs and operating in the Red Centre. This is the highest acknowledgement for environmental understanding, operational practices and cultural representation.
Visit the inspirational Oak Valley or Rainbow Valley Aboriginal Communities as part of our 2, 2.5 and 5 Day 4WD Camping Safari's. We have exclusive access to Oak Valley and some areas of Rainbow Valley where you can observe and interact with Aboriginal people working their land.
Our 2.5 Day 4WD Safari incorporates the ancient beauty of Palm Valley and the West MacDonnell Ranges as well visiting Aboriginal Communities, both of which stamp this Safari as the only one of its kind.
Of all the 2.5 Day Tours and 3 Day Tours on offer, ours are the only ones to utilise unsealed outback roads as well as following 4-wheel drive bush tracks over sand dunes and through riverbeds.
Recently we have introduced 2 Hotel Safaris to our range of experiences for those wanting adventure but like creature comforts. We offer 2 and 3 Day 4WD Eco Experiences covering Uluru (Ayers Rock), Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) and Kings Canyon.
On our 3 Day 4WD Camping Safari and 5 Day 4WD Camping Safari we offer an optional Aboriginal Guided Kuniya Walk+ at Uluru and on our 2 Day Hotel and 3 Day Hotel 4WD Safaris we offer the Mala Walk. These offer and opportunity to learn from Anangu (the indigenous custodians) about their unique relationship and history they have with this icon of Central Australia.
